One Last Turn with the Wind
Mission accomplished: after spinning from 2006 to 2026, Hong Kong’s first commercial-scale wind turbine has taken its final bow. Since its debut, Lamma Winds has contributed to the generation of 16 million units of electricity and the reduction of 13 million kilogrammes in carbon emissions – 560,000 trees’ worth of absorbed CO2 in a year! As its service came to an end, HK Electric bade farewell to this sky-high initiative, leaving behind valuable lessons for the city’s renewable energy journey.
