Tragedy strikes, CKHH and LKSF step up
A fire at a Hong Kong housing complex devastated hundreds of lives and homes. The CKHH family moved quickly to bring support to those in need. Watsons, PARKnSHOP, Fortress and Watsons Water delivered essential supplies and set up Care Service Stations. They also donated home appliances, home essentials and personal care products to the affected families as they move into transitional housing. HTHKH’s 3Shops offered free backup phones, portable chargers, SIM cards and 5G services. The HK Electric Service Team provided on-site help. The Li Ka Shing Foundation promptly distributed HK$30 million to charities to provide immediate relief and pledged HK$50 million for recovery efforts, aiding families to rebuild their lives.

HTHK powers up Hong Kong with 5.5G and AI
Hutchison Telecommunications Hong Kong (HTHK) is kicking off the 5.5G era to mark five years of 5G. It’s lighting up hotspots at mega event venues including Kai Tak Sports Park, the West Kowloon Cultural District and the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, where customers can enjoy an improved experience with enhanced network speed, increased capacity and low latency performance provided by 5.5G broadband, supercharging the mega event economy.

They met outside office for a full day to plan a path forward in a competitive market, taking time to present the Distinguished Honour Award to those who have been with the company for over 25 years.

On board, off board, 3 Hong Kong's 5G broadcast says thank you for the music
Hong Kong’s post-COVID-19 recovery has been replete with over-the-top events. The Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra was brought to the world from live on board the cruise ship Resorts World One through 3 Hong Kong’s 5G technology. In support of the government’s Happy Hong Kong programme, the event was Hong Kong’s first-ever live boat-based broadcast from a cruise ship at sea. The Chinese music could be appreciated by people on the high seas and around the world!

Busting out the bandwidth for Hong Kong’s 25th
3 Hong Kong is leading among telco operators as the first to announce the activation of 700MHz band spectrum mobile phone base stations. This wavelength of spectrum allows for ultra-strong penetration providing 5G coverage. It means better coverage in both less densely populated rural areas and urban areas with intense building coverage. The base stations were activated at midnight on 30 June to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region on 1 July 1997.
