CK Hutchison was recognised for its excellence at the 2025 HKMA Best Annual Reports Awards, earning the Silver Award in the General Category plus the Best Environmental, Social and Governance Reporting Award.

Judges commended the annual report's cover, which showcased a visual conveying the connection between the Group’s four core businesses.

Hosted by the Hong Kong Management Association since 1973, these awards applaud the rigorous work done to create informative reports for stakeholders. With this double win, CKHH continues to set a top-tier example of corporate communications.

Northern Ireland’s largest gas distributor, Phoenix Energy, has earned top accolades from global benchmarking organisation GRESB for its ESG performance. Phoenix retained its five-star rating and placed joint first globally, whilst also receiving two sector leader awards: the Infrastructure Asset Super Class Leader – Network Utilities, and the Infrastructure Asset Class Leader – Network Utilities: Gas Distribution Companies.

Locally, it achieved Platinum Level in the 2025 Environmental Benchmarking Survey through Business in the Community Northern Ireland, for a fifth year in a row.

Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison (IOH) is the winner of the Best Digital Transformation at the World Communication Awards 2024 in the UK. This win recognises IOH’s bold shift from a traditional telecom provider to an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered technology company. Adding to its trophy haul, IOH also secured top honours at TMForum Innovate Asia 2024 in Thailand and the Glotel Awards 2024 in the UK, including the Outstanding Catalyst Business Impact Award and recognition for Best Digital Transformation Project. With these prestigious accolades under its belt, this is just the beginning of IOH’s AI-driven future.  

Ookla has crowned 3 as Ireland’s fastest mobile network for the fifth year in a row. For the fourth consecutive year, it also took the title of Ireland’s fastest 5G network. In addition to this winning streak, 3 Ireland was recognised as the most consistent 5G network in the country.

The rankings are based on Speedtest data from the second half of 2024, cementing 3’s position yet again as Ireland’s undisputed mobile leader. With 99% 4G population coverage and 92% 5G coverage, 3 continues to set the standard for mobile connectivity.  

3 UK is holding on to its title as the fastest 5G mobile network in the country, according to Ookla’s latest Speedtest report for Q3–Q4 2024. With median download speeds of 236.25Mbps and uploads at 12.94Mbps, 3 continues to outperform its rivals.

Mobile data performance is always shifting due to factors such as location, type of device and even the weather. Despite unpredictable conditions, 3 still sets the gold standard for UK 5G performance, ensuring that customers get ultra-fast connectivity, whether they’re streaming, gaming or working on the go.

Cheung Kong Group continues to lead the charge in corporate social responsibility, scooping up 171 “Caring Company Logo” awards from the Hong Kong Council of Social Services (HKCSS). This milestone marks a record 21 consecutive years of unwavering dedication to community care.

Among these accolades, 22 companies proudly sport the “20 Years Plus Caring Company Logo”, 44 the “15 Years Plus”, 42 the “10 Years Plus”, and 40 the “5 Years Plus” logos.

Watsons dazzled as the Overall Winner in the 11th annual Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards 2024, a competitive programme that recognises the best in business innovation in the Asia-Pacific. Watsons took home 34 awards, including 11 Gold, 10 Silver and 13 Bronze across several categories, solidifying its status as a top contender in the O+O Health & Beauty retail sector. Some of the highlights include Watsons’ campaigns for Innovative Management in Retail and the impactful “Go Green with Watsons”, which promotes sustainable practices and carbon neutrality. These victories spotlight Watsons’ commitment to business excellence and its strong customer relationships across diverse markets.  

Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison (Indosat or IOH) has shone once again on the global stage, earning accolades for its exceptional network quality and management excellence. Recognised at the Mobile World Congress 2024 in Barcelona, Indosat emerged as the operator with the most consistent network in Indonesia, alongside commendation for its superior voice app experience.

Meanwhile, at the Asian Management Excellence Awards 2024 in Thailand, the company clinched two prestigious titles: Executive of the Year for Vikram Sinha, its President Director and CEO, and Indonesia Team of the Year for its Corporate Communications team. Indosat’s stellar performance in 2023 continues to garner international acclaim, reaffirming its position as a leader in the Indonesian telecommunications industry, with more than 100 million customers.  

3 Sweden continues its winning streak, clinching the Career Companies award for the fourth consecutive year. This year, 3 Sweden also earned recognition as the most attractive employer for women in the tech industry for 2024. These findings were reported in a survey conducted by Karriärföretagen (an annual award from which Sweden’s most attractive employers are selected) from October 2023 to March 2024. The survey covered female members of its Students and Young Professionals network, representing approximately 30,000 individuals, with women making up 55% of the network. This prestigious acknowledgement reaffirms 3 Sweden’s commitment to fostering inclusivity and gender diversity in the workplace, solidifying its reputation as a sought-after destination for aspiring female tech professionals.

AS Watson has received prestigious accolades at the BW Confidential Beauty Party in Cannes, France. BW Confidential is a leading media group covering the ins and outs of the beauty retail industry.

AS Watson was honoured with the title of Beauty Retailer of the Year, a huge achievement in a year that posed many challenges to the industry. The award recognises foci on innovation, technology, customer relationship management and customer understanding and sustainability. Ms Malina Ngai, CEO of AS Watson (Asia & Europe), was also named Executive of the Year.  

ESDlife’s WeVow lit a fire at the Spark Awards 2023 to win two Gold awards for “Best Promotion Strategy” and “Best Use of Mobile/App”. WeVow is a wedding app that uses AI and data analyses to make life easier for stressed-out couples working on making their big day the best day.

WeVow and a staff engagement app, We+, along with various client projects, have racked up the awards all year long, including the Hong Kong Institute of Marketing Triple Crown Award. The We+ app won Human Resources Online magazine’s Gold for the “Best HR Digital Transformation Strategy”. These are just the highlights of over 15 awards won from those listed plus the Hong Kong Wireless Technology Industry Association, the DigiZ Awards, MOB-Ex Awards, Loyalty and Engagement Awards, Employee Experience Awards and HR Distinction Awards.

SA Power Networks’ “Flexible Exports” project has won the Australian Institute of Energy’s SA Energy Project of the Year Award 2023. The award is offered to the most significant and successful energy-related project, such as research, policy, legal, commercial, engineering and construction, over the past 12 months.

SA Power Networks engaged with more than 6,000 national and international stakeholders to successfully develop and deploy Flexible Exports, which allow solar customers to export up to 10kW of energy depending on grid capacity at the time. It’s a game-changer for both the industry and customers alike who now have an even bigger stake in producing zero-emission energy.  

Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison has won the Gold award of the Stevie International Business Award 2023 in the HR Department of the Year category. The award specifically recognises the success of the company’s post-merger management and enhancement of human resources.

The use of technology such as Robotic Process Automation by Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison was particularly noted and how this was combined with a human touch that respected culture and honoured their staff. The company were recognised for reaching out to staff families through programmes like the Family Festival that brought together over 14,000 staff and their families from the combined companies in nine cities. The SA Volunteer Awards, hosted by the South Australian Government has recognised SA Power Networks’ efforts in the community with a Premier’s Award for Corporate Social Responsibility. The Award celebrates a for-profit business that makes an extraordinary contribution to the community. SAPN supported in the region of 44 organisations last year with millions of dollars of direct grant funding. During 2022, it also launched its inaugural community grants programme that benefited another 25 community groups, schools and not-for-profits. That big-hearted approach to the community deserves to be celebrated!

Drei Austria is innovating to show people new ways to have fun and charge their phones in a sustainable manner. They can reconnect with their childhoods on park swings that use the energy of the swinging motion to charge their phones. This has helped them to win a Bronze in the category of Corporate Public Events at the Austrian Event Award and a Silver Award for the Best Ambient Media Campaign in Combination with People Interaction. The 2023 Awards saw A.S. Watson win an impressive 12 Stevie® Awards including Company of the Year in Retail. This was the headliner among 6 Gold, 4 Silver and 2 Bronze awards. The Group won multiple awards in various categories of PR Campaign of the Year ranging from Influencer Management to Community Engagement. Technology was another strong point with awards in Mobile App-Shopping, Mobile App-Best User Experience and Technology Department of the Year.

Malina Ngai, CEO of A.S. Watson (Asia & Europe) was especially strongly recognised, winning Executive of the Year in Retail, beating other global retail giants from around the world. Over 230 judges reviewed more than 3,700 nominations from 61 countries and territories to make their decisions.  

The global organisation representing all offline and online retail, the National Retail Federation, has teamed up with research firm Kantar to recognise the world’s most influential retailers. Cracking the top 20 is A.S. Watson in sixteenth place, which is recognised for its domestic and international retail revenue success. The Campaign Asia Top 50 Brands for Customer Experience asked 9,000 people across Asia and their answer was clear: Watsons is the #1 Personal Care and Beauty Retailer. It was also ranked sixth across all consumer product brands, an outstanding achievement in a field of hundreds of thousands of competitors.  

3 Ireland has been named the fastest in Ireland! It has won the fastest mobile service for a fourth year in a row and the fastest 5G network for a third year in a row. Ookla, the award-bestowing body, is the global leader in fixed broadband and mobile network testing applications, data and analysis and conducted speed tests in the first half of 2023.

The Australian Gas Infrastructure Group (AGIG) has won the 2022 Energy Community Engagement Award at the South Australian 2022 Premier’s Awards in Energy and Mining. The accolade was given for the success of the engagement programme surrounding its Hydrogen Park South Australia project. AGIG co-designed the programme with the community, as the residents of Mitchell Park became the first in Australia to receive a hydrogen–natural gas blend into their homes. Schools and businesses in nearby suburbs will be the next to benefit from a blended solution when the project expands later in 2023.

From Austria to Ireland, Ookla says 3 beats the rest for speed. Ookla, the global leader in fixed broadband and mobile network testing applications, data and analysis, presents its annual Speedtest awards every year. For the third year in a row, Drei Austria has been deemed the fastest 5G network in Austria. It celebrated with an ad campaign that treated German speakers to witty wordplay to highlight the win. 3 Ireland won its national contest for the fastest network for a fourth year in a row and the quickest 5G network for a third time.

Watsons has been selected by Inside Retail Asia as one of Asia’s Most Innovative Sustainable Retailers for its work across the region. They often bring select partners along with them on their green journey. Watsons has launched a region-wide recycling programme in Asia to educate customers as well as engage them to go green and is constantly seeking out new ways to improve processes so that the company and customers can contribute to a healthier planet.  

CK Group companies were awarded more “Caring Company Logo” designations than any other corporate group in Hong Kong. Not only did the group receive a record 166 awards across subsidiaries but many companies were awarded 5, 10, 15 and even 20 Year Plus Awards for consecutive awards, demonstrating the CK Hutchison Group’s commitment to fostering “strategic partnerships between the business and social welfare sectors to promote corporate social responsibility and build an inclusive society”. This includes A.S. Watson which, in addition to receiving a 20 Year Plus Award, also received a Barrier Free Award and an Outstanding Partnership Project Award.

Jabiru (Northern Territory, Australia) is home to EDL’s award-winning Jabiru Hybrid Renewable Project. This project has enabled the town to significantly reduce diesel use, with 100% solar energy produced during the day. Excess solar energy is stored for use after dark, enabling over 50% of total energy consumption to come from renewables. It also promotes equity by ensuring 99.9% energy reliability for all of Jabiru’s residents. Preventing 6,000 tonnes of CO₂ from entering the atmosphere and promoting equity won the project the 2022 Asian Power Awards’ Solar Power Project of the Year – Australia!  

The team at CK Hutchison head office put a lot of effort into the annual reports and their hard work is rewarded year after year at the ARC Awards for excellence in annual reports. This year they won a Silver award for the Cover/Photo Design in the Diversified Business category. They were also recognised with a Bronze award in the category of Traditional Annual Report. The Hong Kong Management Association was also impressed, bestowing a Best Environmental, Social and Governance Reporting Award and an Excellence Report Award to CK Hutchison. Well done!

HK Electric won the Sustainable Business Award at the BOCHK Corporate Environmental Leadership Awards 2021. It also took the Gold Award – the top spot – in the “Manufacturing” category. This was in recognition of HK Electric’s outstanding work utilising green energy, promoting decarbonisation and assisting Hong Kong to achieve its carbon neutrality target, namely being totally carbon neutral by 2050.

Mr Victor TK Li, Chairman of CK Group, was bestowed the honour of Grand Officer of the Order of the Star of Italy by the President of the Italian Republic, H.E. Sergio Mattarella for his outstanding contributions to the Italian economy, and for his achievements in promoting friendly relations as well as in fostering business ties between Italy and Hong Kong.

Mr Li Ka-shing, Senior Advisor of CK Group had been honoured with the Grand Officer of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic in 2005.

Enerven, an SA Power Networks company, has won the Australian Construction Achievement Award. Their Zero Cost Energy Future project for SA Water saw Enerven design and build over 242GWh of solar photovoltaic (PV) and 34MWh of energy storage across 33 South Australia water sites in less than 24 months. This storage enables SA Water to manage their excess energy production and feed it back into the grid to achieve a zero-net outcome.

The CK Hutchison Annual Report 2020 has won accolades across three platforms. The world’s largest Annual Report Competition, ARC Awards, bestowed an Honors Award to CKHH for the Cover Art of the report. The Hong Kong Management Association awarded a Certificate of Excellence in Environmental, Social and Governance Reporting for CKHH’s “commitment to ethical values and behaviours”. MerComm’s Mercury Awards bequeathed the only Honors designation in the Annual Reports – Overall Presentation (Diverse Business) category. Congratulations!

South Australia is a world leader in the adoption of rooftop solar energy. On the sunniest days, home owners now put more energy back into the grid than they take out. In late December, a new record was set with the distribution network operated by SA Power Networks exporting 185MW to the national grid. SA Power Networks’ active support of rooftop solar has resulted in it receiving the South Australian Premier’s Award for Innovation and Collaboration in Energy for its Enhanced Voltage Management Project. This project has improved substation voltage management and local network solar capacity for 80% of SA Power Networks’ customers.

3 Austria has once again been crowned the fastest 5G mobile network in Austria at Ookla’s annual ranking of mobile phone companies measured by their upload and download speeds for customers. Continuing its winning ways, 3 Ireland reigns supreme as the fastest provider on the Emerald Isle for both fastest mobile network and fastest 5G network. The increased caseload from the COVID-19 pandemic couldn’t slow them down during the measurement period in the first half of 2021. Ookla is the global leader in fixed broadband and mobile network testing applications, data and analyses.

ESDlife had a very successful awards season in 2020 during a challenging year for the retail, public services, banking and finance, and insurance industries. The company won a Gold Award for Best AI Solution at the DigiZ Awards 2020 and a Gold Award for Best Loyalty Programme at The Loyalty and Engagement Awards 2020. It also won a range of other awards in mobile and apps, customer loyalty, fintech, design and retail.

Organised by The Chamber of Hong Kong Listed Companies, the Excellence in Sustainability award commends the Group’s comprehensive partnership with a wide range of stakeholders whose input was deliberated on at Board level, demonstrating the importance of environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) engagement to investors and ESG ratings agencies. CKHH delivered extraordinary results while meeting the challenging complexity of governance across a conglomerate with over 300,000 employees in about 50 countries across the world.
