IOH and partners to launch AI growth hub
Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison, Indonesia Technology Alliance and Tsinghua University’s Wuxi Research Institute have agreed to create an AI Application Cooperation Centre in Indonesia. A pioneer of AI research in China, Tsinghua University has been advancing the field since 1978. The hub will develop home‑grown AI solutions for priority areas, including education, healthcare and agriculture, while training local talent and supporting Indonesia’s Golden Indonesia 2045 ambitions. IOH launches AI Hub to unify and empower Indonesia
Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison (IOH) celebrated the inauguration of its AI Experience Centre in Jayapura, Papua, on National Awakening Day, aiming to bridge the digital divide in Eastern Indonesia. The centre leverages AI to personalise education for remote students and improve healthcare facilities. Supported by Indosat’s 5G network and partners such as Huawei, it offers training, digital platforms and collaborative spaces. CEO Vikram Sinha called it a step forward in their “mission to empower Indonesia and drive inclusive technological advancement”.

Indosat and UN Women spotlight five years of SheHacks success
Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison (IOH) and UN Women, a United Nations organisation, have released the SheHacks Impact Report, highlighting progress in empowering women in tech and entrepreneurship. Since launching five years ago, SheHacks has tackled funding gaps, limited training, and network barriers facing women-led micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) – 70% of which struggle with finance in Indonesia. The programme boasts that 87.5% of participating startups have promoted women to leadership roles and 25% have gained access to new markets. A total of 78.9% of participating startups hired at least ten new employees, including individuals with disabilities. Through mentoring, labs and investor pitches, SheHacks supports women from ideation to scale, driving gender equality and economic inclusion nationwide.

Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison brings digital ecosystem alive for MSMEs
Micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) have access to a new online platform to help them succeed, courtesy of Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison. Indosat Business has launched the Indosat Digital Ecosystem (IDE) designed to allow MSMEs to run their businesses better through hyperlocal insights, digital literacy and a marketplace to access technology products. IDE Advisory delivers insights, IDE Akademi has videos and training for business education while the Marketspace feature creates a community space for MSME players.

Digital empowerment on the horizon with IOH and KADIN partnership
Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison (IOH) and the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to create employment opportunities for promising Indonesian digital talent and to host roadshows and technology training bootcamps to meet the needs of as many as 17 million workers. The IDCamp X KADIN will train up to 1,000 select participants in beginner online training in programming skills. Three hundred of this group will move on to intermediate training, access to the IDCamp alumni platform and more job opportunities. The programme has trained over 182,000 people since 2019.

Three-way link-up for data centres
Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison is creating a joint venture with PT Aplikanusa Lintasarta and BDX Asia Data Center Holdings to deliver 21st-century data services to the people of Indonesia. The three companies will establish a hyperscale data centre business to address the ever-growing demand for global standard data centres in Indonesia. The US$300 million investment will provide cloud services to the fast-growing online business sector. Customers will have access to cloud services in Indonesia and across the Asia-Pacific.

Saving our oceans in Indonesia
Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison has joined forces with the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (Indonesia) to promote environmental preservation of marine habitats in Bali. They are working together to advance four main objectives: the rehabilitation of marine habitats, improving plastic waste management in coastal areas, strengthening turtle conservation communities, and empowering communities in the surrounding environment to improve ocean ecology. The Corporate Social Responsibility Marine Conservation programme is the first step towards helping repair the damage humans have done to our oceans.

IOH programme empowers Indonesian women
Over 1,548 Indonesian women have contributed their ideas to reduce gender disparities in the fields of education, economy, health and the environment. The SheHacks programme at Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison conducts competitions and coaching programmes for women of all ages. Twelve webinar sessions have already been produced, a fourfold increase on the previous year. The programme is also reaching more people across Indonesia; over 23% of participants come from outside of Java Island.

Merger creates Indonesia’s second biggest mobile telco, benefits for customers
Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison, formed in January by the merger between Hutchison 3 Indonesia and PT Indosat Tbk, will become Indonesia’s second largest mobile telecommunications firm with estimated annual revenues of approximately US$3 billion and US$6 billion in assets. This industrial heft will support increased investment in its technological and human infrastructure to provide better service and higher network speeds to customers across Indonesia, the world’s fourth largest nation by population.
